Is it possible to learn the skill of drawing ?

The question above is really bugging me! I always see people draw with ease and I thought " If he can, why can't I ? ". But, learning to draw by yourself is hard unless you have great talent for drawing. I tried drawing but what I always get is the childish drawings that are really saddening for a guy like me. Where are all those complexity? Artists can see things in a complex way and they adhere to any details that they see.

So, what's the solution? I tried buying the book, The New Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain: A Course in Enhancing Creativity and Artistic Confidence, and tried my hands on the exercise inside of it. Have you seen the human-like portrait above ? That's my first drawing before I read the book.

This is the result

For the final exercise in the book, I drew a three quarter view of my face and the above drawing is the result. I felt that this is the proof I need to tell myself that everyone can draw! I always tell myself that I am not a creative person but frankly, it eludes me that I can also get those features right in my drawing.

So, for anyone out there who wants to learn to draw, do it.Do it now! Because I know you guys are better than me and can make better drawings!
